“The Commonwealth is hurtling towards a crisis the like of which it hasn’t seen since the fractious height of the apartheid era in South Africa,” says Ottawa Citizen writer and CJA vice-president Chris Cobb in an opinion piece marking Commonwealth day.
“This time the crisis is undeniably of the Commonwealth leaders’ own communal making,” Cobb says about the decision to hold the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Sri Lanka.
