India and Australia are moving closer together as the Indo-Pacific region gets greater global attention, writes columnist and CJA vice president Mahendra Ved.
“India no longer thinks Australia is a “European” nation in the Asian vicinity. And Australia, taking long though, does not view New Delhi from the cold war prism, as a Soviet outpost in the Indian Ocean,” Ved writes in New Straits Times.
Peter N. Varghese, Australia’s Secretary, Foreign Affairs and Trade, addressed the topic of open regionalism and balanced relations in Asia when he addressed CJA India late last year.
