A reception hosted by the Commonwealth Secretary-General at Marlborough House in London will see the signing of a historic charter and be the Queen’s first official engagement since leaving hospital earlier this week
Today (March 11) Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Head of the Commonwealth, is to mark Commonwealth Day with official signing of the Commonwealth Charter. The document brings together, for the first time in the association’s 64-year history, key declarations on Commonwealth principles.
The Commonwealth Charter was adopted by Heads of Government in December, after a year of consultion with member governments and civil society.
